MEXICO: Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas is a resort town on the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. The waters surrounding the peninsula are the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortes/Gulf of California.

We stayed for twelve nights at the Grand Solmar Lands End Resort. We loved the location and resort. The whale watching from the rooms and pools at the resort was fabulous.

We took a day trip to Todos Santos(All Saints) which has a nice artist community. Todos Santos is also home of the Hotel California, such a lovely place, such a lovely place.

We also took a day trip to San Jose del Cabo….

We read lots, golfed, and enjoyed the restaurants. Some of our favorite meals were El Farallon, Don Manuel, Los Tres Gallos, Romeo and Juliet. We stopped for a cold drink at Sammy Hagar’s place, Cabo Wabo. Most places offer some sort of live music.

Whale watching season in Cabo is roughly December to mid April. We enjoyed a tour with Captain Alonso and guide Oscar. We saw many humpback whales while out. I hoped to get a full whale shot, maybe next time.

We enjoyed walking through the marina. There are some spectacular boats and we were in awe. The marine life was fun to watch too.

We really enjoyed Cabo and hope to visit again. Thanks to our neighbors and family, Lynn and Darrell, for all the great recommendations.

Adios amigos,
