August 2024
We visited the Faroe Islands as part of our Viking Cruise. The Faroe Islands are an archipelago of 18 islands with a population of 53,000 located in the North Atlantic Ocean between Iceland and Norway. The Faroes are a self-governing territory of Denmark. We visited Torshavn, the capital city, population 22,000.
We explored the old town on foot. The red buildings pictured below are government buildings, many with traditional sod & birch bark roofs.
We toured the highlands via motor coach.
On the departure from Torshavn Brian was able to observe the compass calibration.
That’s a wrap from Torshavn,
Betty & Brian
