June 2025
We spent a week hiking in the Canadian Rockies.
We flew into Calgary and drove to our first destination in YoHo National Park. We stayed in the Cathedral Lodge on the Kicking Horse River. What a beautiful spot. We loved the log cabin and peaceful, serene atmosphere here. The weather was cool enough to have fires in the fireplace each night.
We enjoyed hiking Emerald Lake, Lake Moraine and Lake Louise and lots of other beautiful areas. The entire area is abundant with crystal blue glacial lakes, rivers and waterfalls. We saw a few elk but not many other wildlife.
Our second destination was Lake Louise where we stayed at the Post Hotel & Spa. Our room had a nice view of a rushing river and a lovely field stone fire place that we put to good use. The special feature was a squirrel that knew exactly where the granola bars were stored in our room.
We hiked each day and loved each and every hike. A highlight was taking the gondola up Sulfur Mountain.
Cheers,
Betty & Brian
